"Vincent O'Brien"
M. Ward’s last album Transistor Radio was a homage to the long lost golden age of radio, a time when DJ’s played 45s and the dust of the grooves could be heard crackling over the airwaves. Post-War - Ward’s fifth album - created in an attic in Portland over the past two years, occupies its own special place and time, filled with enticing nooks & crannies.

The Black Angels' psychedelically induced rock n' roll evokes the spirit of the 1960's while awakening the heavy droning rhythms inspired by The Velvet Underground. Picture a red moonlit night, deep in the heart of Texas, with the ghosts of Nico and Timothy Leary being called back from the dead to guide you on a journey through Heaven & Hell and back again.

Fronted by brothers Ben Mish, a piano phenom with a blue-eyed soul voice and a raucous attitude, and Will Mish, a guitar wizard who has earned critical nods for his unfathomable talent and innate sense of melody and blues, and flanked by Irish-born multi-talented rhythm guitarist Ronan O'Mahony and the inimitable stick-man Andrew Cloutier on drums, Left Hand Smoke brews up a blend of neo-soul and rock that is steeped in tradition, yet entirely original and fresh.

"You Can't Hide"
Maktub is based out of Seattle, Washington. We've been playing together for 7 or 8 years (can't remember exactly). Our main inspiration comes from writing music together. We've always had a crazy ability to compose songs within minutes together. In fact, there's probably a body of work of 150 songs that we've never released ... most of it the product of impromtu jam sessions that occur in the rehearsal space, at soundcheck or improv nights that we hold periodically around Seattle. That's how we came together as a band and that's what keeps us writing music together.
